It’s been an amazing year for Fowers Games and we wanted to thank you, our fans, for supporting us through this incredible year.
From Kickstarters to digital releases, we have seen incredible growth in 2017. We Kickstarted both Hardback and Now Boarding/Wok Star. We released even more digital games, including Paperback and Burgle Bros., which you can now find on steam. We saw you, our fans, at some amazing conventions. And of course, there’s more to come.
We are looking forward to a very exciting 2018, with several new games at stages of development, we'll have new surprises for everyone.
From everyone at Fowers Games, we want to wish you a Happy Holidays, a Merry Christmas and a Joyous New Year. We look forward to seeing you all in the new year.
It’s been a great year for Fowers Games and our Kickstarter projects. We saw some amazing successes this year and are excited to see a project from earlier this year hit the home stretch. For fans who have been waiting patiently, Hardback will soon be making its way into your hands.
We are incredibly excited to see the next chapter in our word-building deck builders hit the market. This follow up to the successful Paperback should be reaching the port late in December and then into backers hands in January.
The proofs we have received of the game have us very excited for this release. The game is looking great and we are excited to have it in the hands of backers and Fowers Games fans.
In Hardback, players build up a hand of letters used to build bigger and bigger words. Certain cards play off of one another, letting you combo into more buying power and extra points. We have even developed a cooperative mode where players can take on an evil villain. Will you buy the best card, or knock off the card the evil villain would use to get points?
If you missed the Kickstarter, you can pre-order a copy right now and get it as soon as it's here.
Pssst. We have some sneaky, steamy news. Two of our favourite digital offerings, Paperback and Burgle Bros., are now available on your desktop, laptop and any computer you may want to access them from.
That’s right, both games are now available through Steam. You can now play these great games literally anywhere without having to worry about the cleanup afterwards.
Paperback is our incredible word-building deckbuilder. Use your cards to spell words and earn money, letting you buy more cards to add to your deck. Show off your amazing vocabulary and buy victory points. But be quick because the game ends when enough victory points have been purchased.
The Steam version of Paperback includes multiplayer and asynchronous multiplayer for up to four players, even play against people on iOS and Android.
And of course there’s the sneaky Burgle Bros. where your goal is to get to the safe, crack the combination and make it out before you are caught. But don’t think this will be a walk in the park. You will have to uncover new rooms as you go, taking on new challenges and using all of your team’s abilities to get out unscathed. You can find both Paperback and Burgle Bros. on the Steam app. If you want both, there’s even a bundle you can pick up, getting both games for $8.
We have seen tremendous interest and support for our apps. Both Burgle Bros. and Paperback have seen big support from the community and amazing response from reviewers.
Soon, you will be able to play these amazing games on your computer as well as your favourite mobile device. Both games will be coming to Steam in the next few weeks, and you will be able to enjoy our great apps on your computer.
Burgle Bros. looks great on the bigger screen, really highlighting the artwork from Ryan Goldsberry. Sneak past guards and disarm traps on the big screen, getting the most out of the app experience.
We added some great multiplayer functionality to Paperback a few months ago, and that same system will be moving into the Steam implementation. Challenge your friends to word-spelling dominance and show off your language skills.
Watch for Burgle Bros. and Paperback, coming to Steam in the near future.
It’s been a whirlwind convention season for Fowers Games, and we aren’t done yet. We traveled to Indianapolis for GenCon, made it all the way to Germany for Essen, and now we are headed to the city of brotherly love for our final convention of the year.
That’s right, Fowers Games will be headed to the inaugural PAX Unplugged in Philadelphia, November 17 - 19. We will be showing off many of your favorite games, along with some of our newer offerings.
Most exciting of all, we will have the full crew there. You can meet the creators of Paperback, Burgle Bros. and Fugitive, along with our amazing artist, Ryan Goldsberry. He’s done the art for all of our games so far, and even has his own Etsy page.
We will also be bringing the excitement of Fugitive back in a 32-player tournament. We had so much fun at GenCon that we decided to try it again, though this time we are moving to a single-elimination format. If you think you have what it takes, registration for the tournament opens at 9 a.m.
So if you’re going to be at PAX Unplugged in Philadelphia, make sure to find us. Fowers Games will be at booth 749 all weekend. We would love to see you.
It’s a dark world, where winning means surviving. Pick up the flag of revolution and lead your army to victory, bringing with you all manner of violent and effective killing machines. The only question is: whose side will you choose.
We are overjoyed to announce our next Kickstarter project, a board game implementation of Tooth and Tail. We will be bringing this amazing real-time strategy game to the table in the coming year.
For anyone unfamiliar with Tooth and Tail, you take on the role of one of four clans in the midst of a civil war. The winner gets to eat, while the loser will be dinner. Lead the revolution with an army of flamethrowing Boars, mustard gas-lobbing Skunks, and paratrooper-puking Owls.
Reviews of the game have been incredibly positive, and we are excited to be working with the publisher, Pocketwatch Games, to bring this to the table top.
We don’t have details about the game at the moment, but we are trying to capture the gameplay in a streamlined boardgame with all the depth of the videogame. We are hoping to launch the Kickstarter in the next few months. We wanted to give you, our biggest fans, the early notice on this exciting release. Watch this newsletter more news in the coming months as we get closer to release as we will almost certainly be sharing early details and news about the game here.
We have seen a huge praise and positive reaction to the Burgle Bros. app, and we are incredibly thankful for that. Now we are looking for your help with our next app implementation, Fugitive.
Fowers Games is looking for playtesters for our upcoming Fugitive app. We are hard at work putting together the best game we can, and we need your help to make sure the game is challenging and fun, as well as a gorgeous design.
We are looking for players with experience to teach our AI the best moves. Programming the AI in a deduction game can be tricky, and we are hoping you, our biggest fans, can help us teach the AI how to be the best fugitive. If you want to help out with Fugitive, you can fill out this form. We will be in touch with playtesters in the coming weeks, hoping to get the most out of all platforms.
We were incredibly blessed to see the reaction to the Wok Star and Now Boarding Kickstarter. We rocketed past our expectations early in the campaign and kept on cruising. Now, we are looking for some help.
We have released the print and play version of Wok Star into the wild for everyone to enjoy. You can print your own copy of this zany cooperative Chinese restaurant, playing alongside friends to deliver the best dishes as quickly as you can. All … right now.
But we are asking for a small favour. We are looking for feedback on this new version, opening up our game to the wisdom of the crowd. If you want to take a stab at it, check out our print and play available here
You can print off your own copy and tell us what you think. Are you having trouble with the rules? Do you find there’s too much down time at certain points?Once you have your home made copy of Wok Star, play a few rounds. You can send any feedback you have to Tim@Fowers.net.
The leaves are changing color and the air is turning crisp. The season of sharing is almost upon us. At Fowers Games, we love sharing so much we want to get in on the sharing action a bit early this year.
Fowers Games is giving you a chance to win one of our games. What do you have to do to get in on this crazy giving action? Tweet out a photo of you playing one of our games with the hashtag #FowersGames anytime between now and October 31. Make sure to tag a friend that you want to share in your game with.
We will be reaching out to the winners in early November and each pair will win one of our games. You can tweet as many times as you want, but every Twitter handle will only be entered once. Already have our games? This is a way to get a copy for a friend needing more boardgames in their life.
We will randomly draw two winners and send them each their choice of one of our games. We will also choose one winner based on the best photos. Finally, this contest is only open to residents of the continental United States and Canada.
So go out there and tweet your photos, tag your friends and share what you love about Fowers Games.
We have decided to move Fowers Games. But don’t worry, we aren’t going far.
This move has been a while in the making. We have been looking for more space, an opportunity to grow and spread our wings. You, our fans, have made Fowers Games a success, and now we need to grow and build upon that.
We have moved our offices into an historic home in the Salt Lake City area, an old house that will become our new board gaming headquarters. With more space, this will offer us the chance to really spread out and try new things.
With more space, we are able to do more for our fans and create more great content related to our games. You may have seen the videos we did showing off Now Boarding. It’s because of our great new space we were able to record fun videos to support the community.
You will still be able to get all of your favorite games here at the Fowers Games website. This just means we will be able to do more to develop and show off the best game we can.
